Mesh Cognition

The concept originated as Mesh Memory Protocol based Intelligence — a general framework for continuous, interconnected cognition. Xu recognized that traditional emotional AI treats feelings as discrete states, snapshots frozen in time. But emotion is a continuous trajectory, flowing from one moment to the next.
In 2025, EI-3 (Emotional Intelligence – 3 Layer Architecture) was developed as the first protocol implementation. Now, with continued research, the paradigm has matured into Mesh Cognition — the comprehensive realization of continuous-time emotional intelligence.
Research Focus
Under Xu's leadership, Consenix has developed the Consenix Intelligence™ stack:
- Mesh Cognition — the foundational paradigm for continuous-time emotional intelligence, treating emotion as trajectory rather than discrete states.
- Mesh Memory Protocol — cognitive infrastructure for structured, continuous memory with provenance and retrieval constraints.
- Cognition Assetization Protocol — transforms learned cognition into lawful, verifiable, and auditable cognitive assets.
Mesh Cognition formalizes emotion as governed cognitive data — separating user-declared state, machine inference, and resolution, with full auditability and the principle of Affective Integrity.
Commercial Ecosystem
Consenix operates as an IP-led group: Consenix Group Ltd holds the core intellectual property; Consenix Labs Ltd conducts R&D; and SYM.BOT Ltd is the commercial licensee bringing Mesh Cognition to consumer products.
- Consenix Labs Ltd — research center for Mesh Cognition innovation, with publications in progress.
- SYM.BOT — develops emotionally intelligent applications. MeloTune is the first production deployment of Mesh Cognition, designed to mitigate emotional drift and mood mismatch in music discovery.

Background
Before founding Consenix, Xu spent eight years at JPMorgan, specializing in systems design, large-scale enterprise data pipelines, and data integration.
His current work bridges those disciplines — combining financial-grade compliance, cognitive science, and emotional intelligence to shape the next generation of lawful, emotionally aware AI systems.
